I'm building my new rig (I'm a 3D Artist doing Houdini Simulations and 3D Renders), and was wondering about which threadripper will go better for Houdini, wanted to make sure since the price difference is HUGE.
These are the specs of my next rig:

I'm trying to scope out a really meaty workstation build, and would love a sense check/some advice.
We are going to be using the workstation for three main things:
Houdini sims (flip/pyro mainly)
Redshift rendering
Unreal Engine development

So I noticed that my cpu (Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.40GHz) gets really hot when playing games. When i play gtav online my cpu gets over 90 degrees (with the intel stockcooler). So i bought a new cooler, the CoolerMaster HyperTx3i. But even with my new cooler its over 85 degrees. I really dont know...
