Seagate IronWolf Pro - ST8000NT001
No games, no programs and no system on this partition.
Any suggestions which one would fit better for the use-case? Any Pro and Cons? Which one would you...
Hello, I am currently upgrading the capacity of a Lacie 6big DAS - swapping out the 4tb drives for 6tb drives.
My problem is: on the Lacie 6big compatibility list for 6tb drives there is the Ironwolf pro ST6000NE0023 listed.
I am currently searching for vendors and can only find the 6TB...
Hi all, take a look at this video that talks about why 8TB NAS drives are a standard. If you don't feel like watching it, no problem. The first reason is that hardrives that are 10TB or bigger use a technology that is very loud. I have a 14TB Ironwolf and 14TB Ironwolf Pro and it is pretty...

After less than two years of use my IronWolf 12Tb failed. Replacement drive that they sent me does this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jhg7beilf3z8xdb/IMG_2816.MOV?dl=0
After a while it stops doing this, but while it is seen in Windows 10, I can not do anything with it as it shows I/O error. Why...
I purchased a Seagate 8tb Ironwolf to be used as a desktop hdd
Put it on a USB docking station, made one full partition, formatted it with NTFS and copied 5,5 TB of data.
Everything going as it should.
Installed it internally now, as was the plan (removed one hdd and put this in its place)...
Hi all, I have an Ironwolf 14TB NAS hardrive and it sounds very different from other hardrives. I have Ironwolf 2TB NAS, Seagate 4TB NAS HDD and various 1TB desktop hardrives. This 14TB ironwolf NAS HDD sounds very different. sometimes it makes a sort of thumping sound. it doesn't sound...
Just purchased an Ironwolf 6TB (ST6000VN0033) for my Windows machine, as I got tired of hard drives dying on me. Did my research and apparently I can use NAS drives for Windows - all good.
I get into Windows, I try to initialise it, but it says "The request could not be performed because of an...
So from what I've read online, NAS drives should be able to be used in desktop computers. I just bought 2x Seagate Ironwolf 8TB drives and they aren't showing up in BIOS. I've updated my BIOS to the latest version. My motherboard is Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X. I've tested different cables, tried...
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering which drive that you guys would choose for a Windows backup drive? Currently I have a WD My Book (2013 model) which worked perfectly fine as an incremental Windows backup and manually selected backup drive. However considering the age of the drive and random backup...
LaCie 2Big Dock Thunderbolt 3 stopped working, NO Power at all. Can I take the HDD's out and connect them to my Win 10 Home PC with an adaptor of some sort? I have read that such a device is out there but is it safe? The 2Big Dock is under warranty but I WANT my photos now!
Is it ok to use a 4TB seagate skyhawk hard drive for this use case? I heard that it has a lower read speed versus the ironwolf or traditional hard drives, since it is designed for 24/7 writing. Is it really that detrimental for my specific use case? Or is it not what they say it is? Considering...
