memory card reader

Hello there. I’m having an issue with my 3-in-1 memory card reader trying to copy photos onto SD cards. Basically, when I try to copy photos, I get the message “This disk is write protected.” The memory card is unlocked as well is other memory cards that I have tried. I get the same message...

Couldn't really find any information on this. But is it 100% safe to use extenders? In terms of signal corruption, powerloss(resistance) and that sort of things. Want some red cables for my build and it seems like an easier alternative to sleeving the ones I've got. Won't be extending any 24-pin...
