mic fix

I've had this problem for a while now. My mic works perfectly fine on my laptop and other devices (hyperx cloud headset microphone) but for whatever reason my mic doesn't pick up my voice on my PC. If I go to sound settings there's a tick (mic on the black front jack) and says it's working, but...
