pc shut off then back on

I was doing some updates on my pc earlier today, upgrading from a Ryzen 3 1200 CPU to a Ryzen 5 3600. Everything was working alright before, I would occasionally have issues with the monitor saying no signal but I could usually just restart the computer a few times and the problem would go away...
