PCI-e connector

I bought an evga geforce gtx 1060 6gb sc single fan gpu which requires a 6pin pci-e connection. So, I was wondering could I just use one of the 6 pin connectors to power the card or no? I recently used a gtx 970 which required the 6x6 connector but yeah I'm sure by now you understand my question...

I have some problems with my comoaq presario cq43 laptop.when it is started by power button ,doesn't work.power led on,wifi led on,caps led blinking.no screen.what's the matter?
