    can not hook up my dell E1405 to my TV

    I Have my laptop connected to a VGA to HDMI hooked up to my Emerson TV in the correct port wich in this case is HDMI2 on the TV however the laptop is not working I have tried everything. FN F8, start P, display settings. I don't know what I am missing. Can anyone help me figure this out? Please
