    Problem installing a patch

    My new PC hangs when rebooted, likely because of bent CPU socket pins. Windows wants to install patch 1607, but every time it does, it downloads the patch, reboots, starts to process it and hangs at 23% completed. Then when I power cycle it restores the previous version. Any ideas?
