£1000 gaming PC to be bought over next few months

Hi there, just joined the forum to ask about the build I have planned I'm looking to spend around £1000 I'm quite a noob when it comes to gaming parts although I've done interactive media and software development at college so know some stuff but really confused with all the names and variations that you get for modern gaming machines.


I would really like to hear feedback from my pcpartpicker link I have posted I'm not going to buy it all at once if that is any use incase there is new parts out in the coming months, I'm going to use it for gaming quite heavily and often, I'm in 2 minds about AMD or intel processors I really like the sound of the 8 core AMD I'm not experienced with over clocking but I may decide to do it if I was to overclock would you recommend liquid cooling ?

Hello.

So this is for mostly gaming? AMD cores are not comparable to Intel cores, so that complicates things.

I would be looking at a good Intel i5 with four cores and you might as well go for the gusto with 4690K

The cooler will handle some overclocking. I prefer air to liquid for it's simplicity and quietness.

The motherboard will handle overclocking and I chose mATX to allow for a second GPU, but to keep it small. Feel free to replace with a full ATX

Most modern games do not take advantage of even four cores, so eight, or four with hyperthreading is overkill. Things will probably change in the future, but I don't think it will matter until this system is obsolescent at least.

The PSU is semi-modular to cut down on the cables. Leave out the ones you do not use.

Yes and web browsing wanting a machine that is quick and will cope with games no bother, could you help me out with how I could get better parts than what you have listed like putting a crossair power supply in it, a more up to date Intel processor ? as my budget is 1000 so aiming to spend around that

Most of the Corsair power supplies use poor capacitors. Get a power supply manufactured by either XFX or Seasonic.
