Hi there,
I've finally decided to get a really good P.C.
I love gaming, and i want to get a top range P.C and also Future Proof it the best i can.
I've so far found two possible builds within my budget:
http://elitegamingcomputers.com/top-gaming-computers/
~$2000 / £1,190 < Edit: This is the one i'm going for.
CPU - Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5 GHz
Motherboard - ASUS Z97 Pro
CPU Fan - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Video Card - EVGA GTX 780
Video Card - EVGA GTX 780
RAM - Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB
SSD - Crucial M500 240GB
HDD - Western Digital Blue 1TB
Case - CM Storm Stryker – Full Tower
Power Supply - Seasonic M12II-850
Optical Drive - Samsung 24x SATA DVD RW
^that is a BEAST as far as my understanding goes…
and the lesser beast coming in at ~$1750 / £1,041
CPU - Intel Core i5-4670K 3.5 GHz
Motherboard - ASUS Z97 PRO
CPU Fan - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Video Card (CrossFire) - Gigabyte Radeon R9 290
Video Card (CrossFire) - Gigabyte Radeon R9 290
RAM - Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB
SSD – Crucial M500 240GB
HDD - Western Digital Blue 1TB
Case - Cooler Master HAF XB EVO
Power Supply - SeaSonic M12II-850
Optical Drive - Samsung 24x SATA DVD RW
----------------
Now, being very new to this, i've got a few stumbling blocks..
I'm curious as to why the first build is suggested as using two EVGA GTX 780: instead of one MSI GeForce GTX 780 Ti
As i've heard that some games aren't optimised for dual GPUs.
i've also been reading and looking at benchmarks for the Crucial M500 480GB + the Crucial M550 512GB - and the M550 seems to come out ontop but i don't know if this applies to the smaller 240GB models..
Another thing that i've been pondering on - is that apparently SSDs are on the way to being replaced by SATA express and M.2s…… - so will my motherboard be future proof for when these changes are implemented?
>
Is the first setup a good buy? (the $2000~ one)
i do worry that it doesn't have any water cooling, seeing as it'll be running two; EVGA GTX 780
and would i have any chance of over clocking the CPU… without heating issues?
Is there anything i should change.. - like for instance is 240gb SSD enough?? is the motherboard good / future proof…?
I know an i7 CPU is overdoing it for gaming purposes currently, but i understand that in the future more games will implement hyper threading.
I really want to get the best, for once,,,,, too long (18~ years) i've been playing playstation… :/
And this is a Huge investment for me… so i want to make all the right decisions.
Will this Rig be able to handle games maxed out with good FPS?
(for instance i'd LOVE to be able to play TOMBRAIDER 2013 on ultra.. and hopefully the sequel when it's made..)
I don't really care for battlefield, COD e.t.c…. . but i'm sure there will be some very nice graphics coming in with the release of the new 'consoles'……
I've therefore gotta build it myself, as the nearest pre-built system i found was:
Haswell core i7 4770k
Overclocked to 4.4ghz per core
Water cooled with corsair H100 CPU Cooler
ASUS Z87-PRO
CRUCIAL BALLISTIX 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz
CORSAIR 240GB LS SATA3 SSD
SEASGATE 3TB SATA3 HDD
SAMSUNG 25X DVD+/-RW
CORSAIR C70 GAMING Case
NVIDIA GTX780 3GB
@ £1399.99 inc VAT
^and while to me that seems like an alright deal?? it only has one GTX780..
but then it is over clocked and has a CPU cooler..

Well thank you SO much if you've read this, i'd be very grateful for any suggestions as to the two original builds…. and how the pre-made stacks up against them..
I'm desperate to get a computer… .. .
Thanks again,
All the best
