Hi all,

Could someone provide me the best cpu that £150 can buy (loose budget, could go up a bit but not too much).

Also, I need a motherboard that can support the cpu provided plus:
GeForce GTX 660 Twin Frozr
Corsair CX 600
Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB
Not sure if I need to tell you anymore parts (don't know too much about pc hardware).

Could you tell me a decent MOBO that will go with the i5 and the parts listed in the original question?

Thanks,

Johnny

Need to know your case size really, or are you buying that too?

Anyhow assuming you have a mid-tower that supports ATX or mATX boards then here are some options:

mATX:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£155.99 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: Asus H87M-PRO Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£85.88 @ Dabs)
Total: £241.87
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Most mid-tower cases will support both sizes of motherboards.

I recommended ASUS boards purely because that is my preference. Gigabyte and ASRock have a good rep too

Thanks for that information man, could you link me a cheap case that will get the job done?

Sure, there are loads but this one is good

I take it you dont need anything else? optical drive, storage etc?

No, I believe that's it. However, if I do come into any problems could I possibly send a private?

Thanks again,

Johnny!

Don't bother getting a 4670k with a H87 motherboard. Either get a Z87 mobo or get the locked version of the i5 with the H87.

There is very little difference in price with the 4670k and the 4670 so I would stick with the k-series.

It then depends if you will ever want to overclock - if so get a Z series board for slightly more.

All depends what you want to do with it?

I'd personally choose the Thermaltake case or the Corsair 200R case.
