My pc is starting to become extremely slow so i'm looking to [strike]buy[/strike] build a new one. This will primarily be used for gaming and work purposes, I have a budget of around £1500 and was looking for suggestions as to what to get. Preferably Intel over AMD and with SSD.

Solution
Case is purely a buyers choice.
You have the budget there to do pretty much what you want.

Thanks for the build, these were 2 others I built that are quite similar to yours. Would you say the 1080 is worth it over the 1070ti?

What should I look for to see whether it is a decent GPU? Sorry if it sounds dumb but does the brand of the change the performance much?

^ everyone has their favourite brand mate in all honesty.

I've owned cards from every manufacturer along the way.Asus used to be a firm favourite but in all honesty after owning cards from galax/kfa2 & pallit/gainward I have to say you can save fairly big on money by veering from the big brands while losing nothing performance wise.

Google search & reviews are your friend here.

Case in point - the ichill I listed blasts away the founders 1080 & also the rog strix performance wise at stock speeds.

Currently the best buy in the UK as far as I'm concerned too - always buy my gpu's from overclocked or aria - if there's one item you want a swift & easy rma on If they go faulty its the gpu, overclockers have by far the best returns/replacement service in the UK imo.

This i7-8700K and GTX1080Ti combo is around 35% more powerful than i7-8700K and GTX1080 combo which is a huge gain.

I know this thread is solved but just wanted give in my input. This is one more option for OP to choose from.

@king dranzer - I agree & thought about the 1080ti.
The price though ?? £180 more ?? Unless hes running 4k theres not really any reason for a ti, a 1080 can still rip through stuff at 1440p as it stands.

@Flyzeh19 - the 8700k is a current platform , the 7700k is now discontinued.

Its a decent cpu still but the 8700k is literally 50% stronger.

I get your point but GTX1080Ti even at 1080p will give benefits as there will be no requirement of upgrade for even longer period of time.
