I'm currently looking at building a gaming PC for a budget of around £1000. I have come down to 2 systems. Most of the parts are the same execept 1 has an i7 7700k with a GTX 1060 6GB and the other has an i5 7600k with a GTX 1070 8GB. I am wondering which pair of Video Card and CPU would be better for 1080p/1440p gaming at this price point.

Both video cards are gigabyte windforce OC series.

Don't be brand loyal the 1600 is the best option for you right now. Games are really starting to like more than 4 cores which the 1600 has enough of and it's cheaper than the 7700 whilst coming close if not mathing its performance in games.

Any b350 board will do and the stock cooler of the 1600 is really good so you won't need to...

I've never really been big on AMD CPU's for gaming. Not entirely sure how it matches against the i5 7600k but i assume it's the middle ground between the i5 7600k and the i7 7700k.

I suppose it is an option but I'd be more comfortable with an Intel CPU purely because it's what I know and I don't have to go look for another MOBO with the correct socket.
