Hi Guys,

I am about to get a second monitor to make coursework and AutoCAD easier, what graphics card for about £250 would be recommend. I will be playing games but due to being dual screen it would only make sense to play on one screen instead of half on each a screen. I want to be able to play the latest games at 1080p in the best quality settings. I current using a HD 7850 1gb which is fine at the moment but probably not if I'm running a monitor for gaming and the other for browsing.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Adding a second screen will make very little difference in the performance of your 7850 for gaming unless you use both screens for gaming. I'm not sure of compatibility with AutoCAD, but an R9 290 should max your performance at 1080p. Even an R9 280x should just about max all settings at 1080p.

If the 7850 is running fine right now I would try it and see a second monitor just for browsing is not going to mater much. The 1GB version is going to hurt. For upgrades look at the R9 280 or higher. If a GTX 970 can be found in the price range they have killer performance.
