that's what I...
you cant build a new PC for that price, recommend you go to your local CEX and see what they have in stock.

Personally, I'd get an old i5 and pair it with a used GTX760 (or a similar gpu in that category) and give it 4GB ram.

thats all you need for a console par experience.

Here, check out the performance of this potato PC on witcher III, this PC was designed to compete with consoles.

here you go, It is impossible to include an OS in this range.

Keep in mind that you have to pay for playstation plus and games are usually more expensive on a ps4 so really this is less expensive than a PS4, That is actually how sony gets a lot of there money.

You can get an OS off of g2a.com and they work.

i would also recommend overclocking the crap out of that GPU.

that's what I came up with. both what my and Rhezner's builds are should allow your friend to play at low-medium settings at 30fps. Yeah you'll struggle in terms of OS try finding a key on G2A.com like mentioned above too :)

[Edit]
I forgot to add a case to the build but that shouldn't matter too much and will hardly affect performance you might even have a spare one laying about possibly else you can pick one up pretty cheap if you shop around and he doesn't mind too much what it looks like :)

Solution
Thanks so much everyone, these are all around what i had in mind you know, fx 6300 750ti so thanks very much, best solution will be chosen but rhezner and abaday789 both helped enormously!!! I think i will toy around with things to try and get things on 2 websites if i can but i will see whats best, again thanks ever so much!!!

i wouldn't go with that build, It doesn't include a case.

1 stick of 1333mhz ram is pretty crap,

The motherboard is bad and doesn't even have usb 3.0 headers.

The PSU is more expensive and not even as good, And 380 watts is more than enogh for this build

If you on the off chance do decide to change any of the components slightly please don't cheap out of the PSU as I hope you sure already should know. Get a good brand and stick with what has been mentioned as that's probably the best bang for buck quality PSU you're going to get for that wattage.

But if you do think you've found something else either have a look at this thread here http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html or look it up on jonnyguru.com as the last thing you want is a firework show coming out the back of your mates PC which could also take the rest of the PC with it.

Just a word of warning as I know you're on a budget and it can be very tempting to cheap out on a part like that if you're not in the know as I my self in my newbie first build made that mistake and nearly paid the price. :)

Happy shopping and building

abaday

Alright thanks guys, and okay okay, like i said i will mess around so i can make it too my preference/mates preference but i do know about pc builds, i have built 2 from scratch i was just struggling with the whole witcher thing! I have bought 2 OS from g2a so i will do the same! but trust me i wont go without a case/1333mhz/bad psu ill be goood but thanks alot guys all help was appreciated!!

The guys in this thread also failed to mention that the sockets they chose are borderline obsolete and provide no good upgrade paths. If thats what the OP is aiming for then by all means go ahead.

If I was looking for a console par experience I'd still go with something I mentioned in my OP.

FX6300 is a joke of a CPU btw, the minimum fps on all AMD cpus are horrid.

it is your money, spend it wisely

1-its not my money.. not sure if you read my question properly?
2-i have an fx 6300, really not half as bad as intel fanboys* make out, i get perfect fps high 1080p on most games, i find it a very good cpu and am happy it can run witcher 3....

*notice i said fanboys... not customers (i do infact have an i7 4790k in another pc no word of a lie) but i massively respect amd cpus.

the fx 6300 is pretty good and he is definitely a fanboy, and it is funny how he says the 6300 is outdated then links to a build with an i5 750, oh the irony.

you should still probably go with the build i recommended IMO unless you already have a 6300?

Whatchya think?
