Thats exactly it mate:)

Im never going to rule out either brand as im interested in overall performance/value so if it swings back again then i'll have another headache:), but as it stands £300 for that build/performance is a damn steal..

for upgrade you will need better mobo, and that h61 isn't so good

for old games athlon x4 will work close to G8x0, but for newer games that uses more than 2 cores x4 is winner

you know what you play and in the end it's you'r choice and it'll be you'r PC

Did you not read my previous comment properly?

it says that when games are fully developed to use 4+ cores than yes sure this G840 will start to struggle 'but not right now'

Also the MB is fully capable of taking an i3/i5 which again will improve this build, as for the MB's lack of ability to accept 1600Mhz+ ram than im sure i will upgrade that at some point as well.

All in all as previously stated... for £300 this just wasnt possible with AMD 'at the moment' maybe it will change but upgrading both CPU&MB when the time & price is right is an obvious choice.

Thats one game and one resolution.. is that it? is that your argumental evidence?

I have no idea why this thread has gotten up your nose so much in particular, but its almost funny as you havent obviously read all of it in full..

Good luck with pointing out flaws to people you seem quite adept at it :pt1cable:

To all the people who did help, AMD & Intel fans:) it has been muchly appreciated & i'll let you know how its all running when i put it together!

Special thanks to Metal Orient for all the variants you set loose in my head:) Thanks Man +++++rep!

I think the mobo he chose is great. It's cheap and it fits the purpose. He can always upgrade the video card and the processor to a better one whilst still using this Mobo.
@BoomBoxUk - hope everything goes well with your build. Post back and tell us how it goes and how well it runs your games!
