£400 Budget Gaming & Rendering PC.

Hey guys/girls, basically I'm looking to build my own PC for £400 or below or extremely close too, can be a little over, not too fussed.

You do not need to include: OPTICAL DRIVES, OPERATING SYSTEM OR A HARD DRIVE.

I am either going to do that OR upgrade my current PC which isn't very good. The specs of that PC are as follows, I thought I would just mix these two kinda' problems in one thread instead of making two, I hope that's okay.

Here are the specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon X2 5000+.
GPU: Built in graphics - NONE.
RAM: 2GB DDR2
PSU: ADT 350W
MOTHERBOARD: ASROCK N68PV-GS

No need to mention HDD or optical drives, they're remaining the same.

are your existing drives SATA or IDE? if the latter, they're useless.

what size are your existing Hard drives?

it will probly make sense regardless to add a 90 or 120 GB SSD for photoshop/3d studio/maya/.et al

300GB SATA II - Would an AMD processor be better bang for buck, I could get an AMD FX-8150 for a little less than that Intel processor.

about the same performance in rendering, less capable in games, but still adequate, so maybe. let me look at an 8120 build (It'll overclock the same as an 8150)

a little more expensive here, but the ssd is most of the price difference, CPU + MOBO comes out about the same

So what would you got with the AMD or Intel based system? I think Intel may be best since I have the option to upgrade CPU in the future whereas the AMD 8 core is already top of the range for their processors which would mean me getting a whole new mobo to get to use intel processors.

So do you think these systems are good value for money and do you think i could squeeze a little more out of my budget?

I'd probly go with the Intel build, but with the SSD
