Hi, I'm wondering what would be the best budget PC for £400. I don't need an OS or an optical drive.
I was thinking I should get the Pentium G3258, with the R9 280x and also the MSI PC Mate motherboard as I'm looking to over clock the CPU (who isn't with a G3258?).
The whole build I have thought about making now is..

CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor (£48.85 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£65.65 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Kingston Savage 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£42.58 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£38.34 @ Aria PC)
Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 280X 3GB Double Dissipation Video Card (£158.81 @ Scan.co.uk)
Case: Xigmatek Recon ATX Mid Tower Case (£22.78 @ CCL Computers)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply (£33.78 @ Aria PC)
Total: £410.79
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Please, suggest any changes I could make. Thanks in advance :)

If you want to overclock the G3258, DEFINITELY get a cooler, or it probably won't last a month or two, haha. The Zalman Optima CNPS10X is very cheap and efficient. Try that. Otherwise, yeah, if you are upgrading to an i5 4690k, then take the G3258 now.
Normally you might want to have your PSU to be at least 80+Bronze, even though EVGA is a really good brand. Apart from that, the G3258 might struggle with some newer games that require 4 threads (4 cores or 2 multithreaded cores). If you are worried about that, you might want to get an i3 4160 instead, in which case you could also go for a different motherboard if you feel like it.

Nextg_Rival, thanks for your answer. I was thinking that 2 threads weren't enough, however in the next month or two I'm going to be upgrading to an i5 4690k and keep my motherboard. Sorry I didn't include that. Also I watched a YouTube video and the guy was playing BF4 64 player servers and getting 100+ fps with the G3258 over clocked to 4.5 GHz, so for a month or two, do you think this will be fine also without a cooler?

+1; That EVGA power supply though is not bad at all.
