i'm looking to build myself a PC (first time) and i need to know what parts i should use, i'm going to be using it for gaming on games such as battlefield, payday, LoL etc and i would like to run dual screen if possible. Included in the budget i would like an operating system (windows 7) a monitor and could you also throw in a network card? thankyou very much in advance.

Slightly over budget but should definitely have some good performance. Should be able to play games such as BF4 on high possibly ultra settings.

i do like the look of both of the builds however, which in your honest opinion would be the better build? are there any significant pros/cons about each of these builds i need to consider?

Go for this one, it's a bit more expensive than the first one, but imo it's worth it. Pros: can overclock later on, 23" monitor, 2GB 7850, and a spacious case:

Well the FX 6300 peforms a lot better than the Athlon II X4. The cards we chose are pretty much the same but personally I prefer Asus over XFX hence my video card. Memory is similar but again I prefer Corsair to Patriot, both because I have it and Corsair has a great reputation. And everything else is very similar but varies in brands.

So overall, if you have got the extra few pounds go for my build but then again mine doesn't have an optical drive which RazerZ's does. If you go slightly cheaper on some of the components such as the HDD, PSU etc. then I'm sure you can get a dvd drive.
