Hi

Basically im new to this but i need a new computer and have decided that alongside doing music production i would also like to do PC gaming. I've never built a computer before so i don't really know what im doing but i still managed to pick out some parts from reviews, guides and such. I have no idea if there compatible with one another, so id appreciate if you could help with that. here's what i got :

Processor - AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8320 3.50Ghz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail

Graphics card - SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 270X Dual-X OC 2GB GDDR5

RAM - G.Skill RipjawsX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

Motherboard - ASUS H81M-PLUS Intel H81 (Socket 1150) Motherboard

Power supply - Novatech 750Watt Power Station V2 Black Edition Modular Power Supply 80Plus Bronze

Hardrive - SeagateBarracuda 7200.12 2TB 64MB Cache Hard Drive SATA 6 Gb/s 7200rpm - OEM

Total £487 (not counting case)

So basically is it a good build and is it capable to do pc gaming with (Keep in mind im aiming for £500) am i missing anything or do i have all the parts needed, also is there any thing that i could/should upgrade?

(P.S im aware ill need a sound card, but im going to leave that till after i get the basics down)

You need an AM 3+ socket motherboard. AMD FX CPUs can fall only in AM 3+ socket. The LGA 1150 is for Intel. It will not fit.

Also, choose a different power supply. 500W Seasonic, XFX, Corsair, be quiet! will be enough. Novatech is not really to be trusted. Cheers.

Would you have any suggestions for another Motherboard, or would i be better off changing the CPU instead?
