Previously I have been a complete console gamer, owning all Playstations (excluding PS4) and have decided to make the switch to PC gaming. I am finishing up school and have decided to treat myself to my dream gaming rig, that still fits within my budget £600.

I have done a lot of thorough research, but I don't really know any tech pros and I decided that I should get some first-hand feedback for my PC so far.
I would appreciate any feedback on my current setup, along with answering a few questions. Is it worth getting THIS particular PC over a PS4? Can I run Titanfall and Dragon Age: Inquisition at high settings with an average frame rate of 60?

Any other details would be very helpful to me right now as I have a lot on. Please note I have not built a PC before and I don't have much experience in PC gaming

Thanks for any help!

You will be able to run any game the PS4 runs at better frame rates using equivalent graphics settings. Keep in mind that you will have to resist the temptation to slide all the graphics to maximum in order to maintain 60+ frames/second.

Seagate Barracuda are very unreliable from what I heard, so many YouTube videos on it having the click of death
960 will run the games really well over 60fps.
But it seems your coming from console gaming so the 750ti could be a good match and runs with less power.
Try to bail on the disk drive, your not going to need it . Unless you do not a spare computer to load the install disk to a usb stick and run it from there.
If your going to overclock remember a 3rd party cooler is a must.
Also, remember where your going to put the computer because you need to figure out what connection you are going to use. WiFi or Ethernet or even WiFi repeater.

Thanks for the pointer.

I will change the HDD since I am looking to shave of a couple of quid anyhow.

Well, someone's been doing their homework, haven't they? 😉
Very slick build, mate, excellent choices, apart from the case, which is the only thing I'd suggest you change. My reason: The Comrade is fairly narrow at 185m.m. so it won't allow for taller CPU coolers, I've one of these: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-172-CS&groupid=2362&catid=1489 it JUST accepts a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus and has decent cable management along with some more flexible airflow options.
If you CAN extend the budget to include a small SSD I suggest you do so, they make the system more responsive in general tasks but their limited capacity (unless you can stump up for one of 512Gb or more) makes them unsuitable as a primary drive, you'll get better value with a 128Gb SSD/1TbHDD combination.

Thanks for the advice.
I will consider buying the case but I really can't afford another £60. Will I only need that case for overclocking?

Back to the memory: I only really need 1TB so it's just a matter of which is cheapest and most realiable. So far I may buy the one Raven suggested since it seems cheaper and more reliable than my previous.
The only issue is that the reviews claim they make very loud crunching sounds? I can bare this if it's just when I'm downloading something or saving etc. But I really don't think I can manage if it countinues to make this noise when I am gaming.
Anyone got any advice on this issue?

Fair enough on the cost.
You can get smaller coolers if you want to OC, but a wider case will extend your options, the reason I opted for the Carbide Spec 03 was because my Hyper 212 Plus just wouldn't fit into a Btifinex Comrade or Neos case, both of which I considered for my current build, but both proved to be too narrow. The Zalman linked by Madmatt30 is also good, cheap as well, and I considered that but preferred the Carbides dual front fan setup because I needed to tame the heat of a R9 290. 😉

Titanfall can probably run on my phone... it is a very un-demanding game, dragon age however is fairly intensive at the highest settings. Whatever you build at that cost will be a whole lot better than a ps4.

Components seem fine, gpu will be your main deciding factor with game performance - it seems you have a tight budget but I would possibly consider losing the optical drive and getting a smaller hdd until you have more money and instead trying to see if you can get a 970 in there. If you are wanting to play stuff like the witcher 3 when it is out then the extra performance there should go a long way.
The mid-range gpu you have chosen may require careful adjustment of game settings for optimal experience if that is what you decide to stick with.

Keep in mind that this may be an old hard disk, but again, hitachi is a reliable one along with majority being 4 or 5 stars, but if anything, everything else will drown it out, so don't worry, take a look at this if it is too big of a worry, western digital has some good HHDs as well: http://www.amazon.com/Blue-SATA-7200rpm-Internal-Drive/dp/B0088PUEPK/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1424909420&sr=1-1&keywords=hard+drive

I would honestly stick with the Seagate or WD blue from amazon directly.
You can at least be assured of warranty then & if a fault happens to develop inside the warranty period amazon will pretty much replace it instantly.
There's nothing wrong with the seagates nowadays IMO.They had a bad production run on their 1/2tb drives a few years back & it crippled their reputation - current drive models are absolutely fine.

I think the one I linked was from amazon warehouse and I could return it within a year.
But what you said about seagate: Has the one I have in the original question OK or is it one of the less reliable ones.
