I'm trying to build my first gaming pc and can anyone give me some good specs\parts for the pc with a budget of £650 without the os. I did my parts list ://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/rsFNK8
Please mention if there a problem with it or how I can improve with it.you do not need to include the os with it.

Simple advice, don't buy an AMD cpu. An intel i5 4460 on a Gigabyte H81 HD3 or Asrock H81M will literally be twice as fast in gaming and general use.
With intel i5 the stock cooler is fine you don't need a big cooler.
With intel i5 you only need 1600Mhz memory.
With intel you only need 600W power supply, but get seasonic or EVGA supernova, corsair CX has a bad reputation
970GTX is a good choice.
If you are running out of cash, spend £20-30 on a case with some good reviews.

I tend to buy everything from amazon uk because their prices are OK and if anything goes wrong, I only have one company to deal with.

Okay thankyou, I have been suggested with Intel 6600k gtx 970 but with this I will be spending wayy over 700 but some people are saying cheap motherboard does not make a difference and asrock is best for gaming. Some advise on the motherboard?

If you can afford skylake i5, get it.
But the Haswell i5 does things at 90% the speed of Skylake for a lot less money.
A Haswell based PC should last 5-7 years before it is slow enough to need a new CPU and motherboard.

An expensive motherboard will not make a stock CPU run any faster at all. They have more connections and features, but you probably don't need them.
However, some really cheap motherboards struggle to supply enough voltage to run a powerful CPU like an i5. The two I recommended are at the cheaper end of things, but will work well even with a fast i7

True, the Haswell is £12 cheaper than Skylake, but does it worth it?. I've to admit yes it is. Now, why?.
- The i5 6600 performs 19% faster in single-threaded applications than i5 4460
- In memory-intensive programs, the processor has 22% better performance.
- Lower power consumption than Haswell
- better price/performance ratio. etc...

I would recommend Skylake, especially for the latest titles.

The Skylake motherboard is £50 more expensive!!!
DDR4 memory is also more expensive. The overall price difference is quite a lot.

Corsair CX power supply is not good.
Buying all the components from different suppliers is not good - if your PC goes wrong, who you gonna call?
Otherwise OK

but buying Skylake instead of Haswell has cost you an SSD.....

In overall, i don't see any huge difference in price, just £12 noting more. So you think the extended £12 pounds is much expensive than a Haswell build?.
