My friend wants to get a pc for about £700. I have parted out a list for him, but I am not entirely confident on building it for him, I've never built a system before, alternatively I have found similar specs on an AWD-it pre-built machine for £50 more but slightly less specs and upgradability. If anyone could comment on the value of the AWD machine &/or my custom list I'd greatly appreciate the feedback thank you!

Edit: Also which kind of PSU to expect, as only a "650 watt" was added in the specs on AWD

AWD machine:

Solution
Would get a 8 core beast for that money, overclock it and you have really decent gaming performance and added 2 more cores for future proof. Also That SSD is bad, dont cheap out on the SSD!

Permission for the parts list is denied could you paste the build in?

Yeah I thought with the 3600 he'd be able to aim for 144hz and can't go AMD gpu i'm afraid as he'd benefit from NVENC
Unless you’re dropping settings, getting a 144Hz monitor and a GPU that can hit 144FPS solid there’s not much point, plus all the games that benefit from 144Hz that that GPU can hit aren’t CPU intensive anyway.

Why would you want NVENC? Pretty sure the raw performance gain would outweigh it anyway.

Awesome man! Thanks for the reply! My only question is the alleged 15% better IPC on the 3000 series over the 2000 series, he's a fortnite player, and apparently according to this link it offers a 20% uplift over the 2700X, I imagine an OC to 4.3 would pull it in closer?
