I just upgraded my eVGA 650G3 to a 1000P2 (Anticipating video upgrades). The 650G3 had been showing a PFC of between 0.95 and 0.97 on the system. Once the 1000P2 was installed, the system indicated an abysmal PFC of 0.71!! This concerns me, as I have only seen such terrible PFCs on non-Power Factor Corrected PSUs (Antec VP-450 @PFC 0.56). So, just for a lark, I ''borrowed'' a 1600T2 to see what it was registering...and guess what? PFC of 0.94! (Same system, same components, same power consumption, same OS.) I have tried looking this problem up on eVGA Forums, and Google...to no avail! And, BEFORE anyone comments, YES! I routinely ''babysit'' (monitor) my electronic equipment, as a matter of routine preventative maintenance (and curiosity!) I guess my questions are...
1.) Has anyone ever had a ''PFC circuit'' go bad?
2.) Other than ABYSMAL EFFICIENCY, is this a problem?
3.) Could it be a ''sign'' of other, pending issues?
4.) I have only had this PSU a couple of months, and it has a 12-year warranty...do I need to RMA it?
Thanks!
