Question 0d error when trying to boot dual channel memory

Hi all,



I've recently built a pc which i was running a stock cooler on until my AIO was delivered.

I removed my stock cooler and cpu and cleaned them to find out the aio i ordered was too big for my case, so i put the stock cooler and cpu back in as normal.



After that, when i tried to boot, everything would start up (fans, lights, etc) but there would be an 0d error code and the monitor wouldnt work.

I googled a couple things and found out it could be an issue with my cpu or motherboard pins being bent. I went and checked the cpu pins and all seemed to be fine and my motherboard has a cover over its pins which makes it hard to see if they were bent.



I tried alot of stuff and eventually the pc booted when i took a stick of ram out.Turns out my computer only boots when there are no ram sticks in the DIMMb slots.

I've tried both tightening and making my cooler looser with no effect.



Im assuming this is still a cpu or motherboard issue and i was wondering if i need to get this checked out in a repair shop.



the cpu pins all looked fine to me but i was just using my eyes with no equipment

Could this be another problem? Or is it probably cpu/motherboard issue?



My Specs:

Msi meg x570 unify mobo

Ryzen 9 3900x cpu

Wraith prism stock cooler

2x 8gb XPG gammix ddr4 3200MHz ram

radeon rx 5700

Put just 1 stick of RAM in slot DIMMA2 (2nd from CPU socket):

Then clear the CMOS.
Clear CMOS using these steps:
Unplug the PC (PSU).
Then press the Power Button for at least 30 seconds.
Use a flat headed screwdriver to short the CLR CMOS (JBAT1) Jumper (Touch both jumper pins with the screwdriver) for at least 15 seconds.

Plug the PC back in.
Press the Power Button to turn the PC on.
Repeatedly tap the DEL key
A screen should come up telling you to press the F1 key, do that.
Set the Optimized Default settings and Press OK (this is on the EXIT tab)
Save and exit the BIOS.
Tap the DEL key again to enter the BIOS and change any settings you want changed then save and exit again.

I've tried clearing the CMOS with no dice,

im probably going to run single channel memory until i can take the pc in and get everything looked at.

I just wanted to make sure i tried what i could by myself

Per page 32 of your manual, are you starting off with the Dimm A2 and B2 channels?

Are your modules from a matched kit (i.e, both modules in the same sealed package, vice just a pair of randomly matched single sticks from manufacturer)?

Have you tried selecting a sub=3200 MHz speed in dual channel, say, 2666 or 2933 MHz?

Current my RAM sticks are in DimmA1 and DimmA2, it seems like any presence of ram in DimmB1 or DimmB2 causes the 0d error.

Yea my modules were from a matched kit

I have not tried selecting a sub 32020 MHz, but i did reset my bios which automatically turned off XMP and i was still getting the 0d error with anything in DimmB1 or B2
