I posted an answer to this question on another forum already:
http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/192886-0x10e0.html

"I also received this error a couple of months ago and it completely baffled me.... I googled it and found nothing about it. I ended up ignoring the error messages cause I was really busy and had no time dive into them. I have a couple of registry cleaner's installed on my system and Every month or so I run them to keep my system in a normal state without having to format.
I ran two cleaners:
RegistrySmart - registrysmart.com
RegistryCleaner - pc-kitchen.com
One of them solved them because the error message stopped appearing.
Let me know how this solution works out for you and if you hear anything else about this error."

Benjy - thanx for the advice.
I replied to your message on the other thread:
http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/192886-0x10e0.html

"Regarding the following message:

Error (login): 0x10e0 The operator or administrator has refused the request.

The pc-kitchen.com cleaner worked! Just so you know they tried to cross sale me lots of other stuff! You don't have to buy the other products for this particular error."

I'm not suer I can help but I had the problem with '... the operator or administrator has refused the request'. I have Uniblue Spyeraser installed and it flagged for the file 'C:\Windows\System32\rundll.exe'. It is not part of WindowsXP which I am running and it recommended that it be deleted. So I did and the problem went away. Hope this helped.

rundll.exe was also the problem for me. Just went on windows task manager ended rundll.exe process (there were 2 running for some reason -ended both). Then ran windows search for rundll.exe and deleted it. No problems since.

I had this error popping up after I installed VMWare Workstation to dual boot Windows 7.

Anyways, I went to Task Manager and found wuauclt1l.exe - I ended this process and went to windows\system32\wuauclt1l.exe and deleted it. It has not popped up again.

I had the same problem, I would suggest going through the task manager and looking for processes that started the same day as the error message. Just right click each process and go down to "properties" and check the date/time.

"Error: (login): 0x10e0 The operator or administrator has refused the request."
I got this error directly from a Sony Vegas Pro Keygen that had been hijacked with this thing. It could be the latest name of this trojan. (July 2009) Its called "dfrgfatl.exe" and resides in the system32 folder in the Windows directory. 160kB in size, and Symantec Endpoint hasn't even got it in their sites yet. I didn't see it as a process, but I disabled it's start up in the registry and all is well.
July 2009 malware

Exactly right @subsonicwave.

Only my version was called powercfgl.exe.

IMPORTANT
It seems the hijacker is using -l.exe file names where - stands for an existing .exe in windows\system32.

Hey,

I had this annoying problem as well...

I tried some of the suggested manual solutions on this thread and then I started getting a blue screen every time i tried to load the computer.

I formatted my computer and installed all of my software again only to find that the same message came back again!

I coughed up the 30$ and bought the ms-errors software, it solved my problem - the rest was a waste of time and made me grow white hairs!!!

You formatted Windows and got the same error?
And then you purchased a program to fix errors on a clean install of Windows?

That is WEIRD :D

For anyone else wanting to fix this error ;) Just download FREE Malwarebytes
Here it is: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php
Update it
Run a quick scan in Normal Mode
And remove all found issues

Basically this is just Malware (in most cases) and running the normal scans will repair it
Plus use free programs like CCleaner to remove temp files and run a free registry scan and fix ALL for FREE

@markmaltido, I noticed you replied on >> other forums on the same day too, saying the same thing.
I honestly don't think you realize but everything (Windows software related) can be fixed for free

I wouldn't be buying that product, that would be crazy.
If you have the time to look me up, come to my forum (link not supplied) And I will happily delete your post within 1 minute of you posting it
Basically I don't like spam
Have a nice day :)

OH, and for those that reply after me stating that "purchasing that program worked"!!!
All I can say is: You're wasting your money
Thank god we have free forums to help real users with their real faults

Hey Kimsland,

First of all, what's your problem and what are you talking about? Some of the recommendations on other forums and on this one not only didn't solve my problem but caused my computer to crash...

I reinstalled all of my software from backup discs I made and I had the error appear again...

What's weird about that? - i must have reinstalled the software causing the error at some point...

Second of all Malware Bytes is probably the worst program I've ever tried.

Just read the review that this guy gave it way back in April...
http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/9241-8022_4-11018531.html?messageID=10429240

Malware Bytes can even cause a blue screen of death:
http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=173213
http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=9878

No wonder it's free, who'd pay for a program that causes a blue screen of death.
I tried it and CCleaner and they both didn't solve my problem. The one that did was the ms-errors program I mentioned earlier.

Talking about spam the only spam going on is you trying to promote malwarebytes on every forum and every error possible regardless of it being able to help or not...

lol :D

Malwarebytes would have to be the best
Its mentioned on every single forum. By every single support person, in removing Malware
Even the biggest and most respected forums on the Net ;)

Not only that but its >>> FREE
It certainly isn't Spam, and obviously you do not have enough enough knowledge to know that.

IF one of your installed programs then caused your issue, after a format
Then I would have stated to try again, but this time don't install your malware infested program until your had an updated Antivirus (I prefer free Avira ;)) And possibly running a scan with Malwarebytes

lol Malwarebytes ...
Malwarebytes is 100% the best free Malware removal tool there is.

Hey I made a guide here (on one of the forums I supported at)
http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=795114
It includes running Malwarebytes ;) All for free

Kimsland and Mark both of you are right.

Kimsland - MalwareBytes is an excellent program, it is great for removing malware 90% of the time.
Mark you are correct – it does have false positives that can cause errors on your computer.

Personally for me the MalwareBytes program did not fix the issue and neither did the demo version of the ms-errors program.
Only the full version of the ms-errors program that costs 30$ solved it.

Why are you guys making it so complicated, act like adults and stop spamming. Both of you!

LOL :D Again

Thankfully I have solved the issue for free
And if anyone scans with it, remove ALL found Malwares, as per all support guides on the Net

Geez you guys are persistant, I'm going to have to searh Google for other forums you have Spammed too, with "buying" your product.

And since I did report you and the Mods here don't seem to care (or something?) Then I may as well be a bit more forth comming

DON'T BUY MS-ERRORS, IT IS BEING SPAMMED ALL OVER THE NET BY THESE CHARACTERS

And the only ones replying, are these spammer characters themselves

I have solved all Windows issues on for thousands of users, all for FREE

Now can this topic be closed Mods? Or do we have to get another stupid comment back from these losers?

You can Ban me if you like, but at least keep my posts, so as others are aware when searching this issue.

IT CAN BE FIXED FOR FREE

Thank-you Kimsland

I was able to fix my issue for FREE

Don't listen to these are losers, Kimsland was right, you don't need to pay for anything, and I didn't use that ms-errorfaults program either. Because I didn't even have to

:)

One Happy User here :)

Yes your Guide helped me solve my issue 100%, and I didn't have to pay 1 cent for anything.

I agree with Kimsland and HappyUser, forget that spam product ms-fixes or whatever it is, YOU DON'T NEED TO BUY ANYTHING

:hello:
