Hello, I purchased many Amazon videos when I could still download them to my PC. Now when I try to play them, I get an error, 0xc10100b5. I've tried with Windows Media Player, VLC media player, and do not know why this is happening. These videos were all purchased and downloaded through another laptop, which has since bit the dust. I'm running Windows 10 64-bit on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. When I try VLC to play the videos, the following error appears:

Could not demux ASF stream:
DRM protected streams are not supported.
VLC can't recognize the input's format:
The format of 'file:///E:/Amazon%20Unbox%20Videos/Doctor%20Who%20-%20Christmas%20Specials/Doctor%20Who%20-%20Christmas%20Specials%20-%20S03E001%20-%20Last%20Christmas.wmv' cannot be detected. Have a look at the log for details.

As I remember, there was something I had to do to get these DMCA protected videos to play, but naturally I can't find my notes. Any ideas?

I managed to fix the problem by following these steps (as suggested in another thread - which I can no longer find):
go to SEARCH
type in REGEDIT and click on it
press yes when it asks for permission
expand 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE'
expand 'SOFTWARE'
expand 'Microsoft'
expand 'Windows'
Expand 'CurrentVersion'
click on 'Audio'
double left click on 'DisableProtectedAudioDG'
change 'Value data' from 1 to 0
press OK
close Registry Editor
Restart PC
It then worked for me!!

Hopefully it works for you!

I tried this solution, but my regedit didn't have that entry for protected audio. Hmmmm ... just one of the many dead ends I've gone down while trying to figure out why I can't play videos anymore. Thanks, though!
