Hello fellow builders,

So I have an issue. My friend asked for me to build him a PC for photo and video editing for about 1,000 euros or 1,200 dollars (yes, his work is legit and he works with a lot of models). I do know how to put together a pc, I do know a lot of parts, but like always I just can't choose. I really want it to be good. I am not sure when I should take budget option and when I should don't worry about good investment. So my head went with Intel immediately. It's not because I don't like AMD, it's just seems trustworthy to me, I would risk, if it was my build. My research showed that all Workstations for video and photo really need is powerful CPU and lots of RAM. Okay. But I also want to future proof this content creator meaning that component like MOBO should have Thunderbolt and both HDMI and DVI ports, WiFi. I think this is the hardest part to me, because I want for it to have lots of features maybe even by downgrading from z270 to z170. It might be because I don't have enough knowledge on what is really used in these creator situations. If I give my self a better shot with MOBO, RAM and CPU, there are almost no money left for GPU. So is it bad without it? Maybe I should suggest adding it later? He does want to do some gaming and of course it would accelerate some work flow.

So far I came up with this:
CPU: 6700k
MOBO: Z170-A
GPU: Asus Strix GTX 1050Ti
RAM: Corsair 2400mhz 16GB
PSU: Evga 650W G2
Storage: Crucial MX300 275 GB
Cooling: Hyper 212 EVO
Case: Corsair 270R

Storage is not an issue for him. He has a portable hdd collection. Please give me your best suggestions on what I should do/change. Since I also want it to be silent I am thinking about fanless PSU. And second should I remove GPU for compromise?

Thank You in advance.

i know its a laptop, but from watching tv a lot, i thought being able to show the models what pics you took immediately after taking them helped with poses ..... who am i to say, im not the pro taking pics.

but it has i7 quad core (8thread) for editing whatever you want. and its a laptop, you dont have to worry about buying a screen or removable media compatibility, it has all the slots (sd card normally excluded on pcs - and what do cameras use?)

just throwing you an idea is all.
