Want to know if there are any better parts that would allow for a higher price/performance. Or if there are any other changes to make. want to keep price around $1000. The computer will be used almost exclusively for 1080p gaming. Thanks in advance

You're better off with an i5 for gaming, since Hyperthreading doesn't really improve performance. Plus, 16GB would be fine if you're editing, but 8GB is more than enough for any gaming build. Also, unless that is the Windows 10 USB stick, the NZXT S340 won't support any optical drives. Here's a better build -

This is more powerful, highly expandable, higher efficiency power supply, a much roomier case, a more silent, yet more efficient cooler and a nice Black and White color scheme (if you don't mind the beige and brown on the cooler).

Is the jump to the 390x really worth the $100? In the bench marks I've seen it only averages 1-5 fps more

Thanks for the help, Is the 970 reccomended over the 390? They have roughly the same in-game performance, roughly the same price, but one has more vram. I don't care about looks either.

Actually no, the 390x is not worth the money over the 390. I would just get the 390 and save the 100 bucks.

Well, you will not be fully utilizing the potential of that i7 if you are only gaming. You would be better off getting an i5 and saving the money.
