I'm building a computer that I plan on hooking up to a 42 inch HDTV. My (wonderful) fiance is giving me a 1,500 price limit, including the TV and sound system.
It will mostly be used for gaming and streaming movies.

Here is the TV and speaker system

so now I have 1050, including the OS.

For a media center PC I wouldn't consider a full tower. Try a build similar to this:

Storage: OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($139.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card ($269.99 @ Newegg)

I have the older version of this case and it looks like it blends in well with a home theater system.
