I am attempting to build my first computer that I will use primarily for gaming. I am planning to go the AMD route, but should I get a 1.2 or 1.33 ghz cpu and what motherboard should i buy?

Please help...

Well, I guess the MSI K7master (that's what the tom's hardware power box uses)

before deciding on the cpu, decide what motherboard you want.
in general, unless you are on a tight budget, get a board that could host broadest range of processors and fair number of features, so getting a motherboard with VIA KT133A, AMD 760 or ALiMagik would make your board pretty future proof, that 133 MHz FSB processors are coming around. With AliMagik, you can even opt for either SDRAM or DDR-SDRAM at once, keeping you budget short but options open. you would not want to change your boards often.

And even if the motherboard goes out of your budget, its reasonable to get a slower processor fitting in your budget.
That too, is subject to personal tastes, liking and his purpose.
