[SOLVED] 1.2 vs 1.4 display port

so i'm building a new pc come this November, and everything i have looks pretty good but what i'm nervous about is the rtx 2070 is 1.4 display port and my 144hz monitor is 1.2 display port is that compatible or do i need to get a 1.4 display port monitor as well, because i cant find any at an affordable price

Nope, DP is backwards compatible. Im running my monitor DP 1.2 with 1080Ti DP 1.4 just fine.
