I am wanting to put together all needed components for a new gaming rig for my son for Christmas. I want to get parts now as they are getting harder and harder to find.
The biggest problem he has is with the heat factor. We live in So. Nevada where temperatures often surpass 110-117
degrees in summer time. To compound matters, my son's room is much hotter than in the rest of the house. When the rest of the house is cooled to a comfortable 75 degrees, his room is 82, even with his computer off. I am mentioning this so you will understand his particular need.

In reading many posts these are some components
I was considering.

First he does not overclock. He is not that computer savvy.
His use is mainly for gaming. And his game of choice is a online flight simulator called War Thunder, in which you play against other people online. Reading other posts on here, this is what I have come up with so far.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3600X or the XT
https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-36...keywords=AMD+Ryzen+3600&qid=1605224672&sr=8-1

CPU Cooler: be quiet Shadow Rock 3 CPU cooler.

Motherboard: Either the MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus
or the MSI Tomahawk Max B450https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Crossfire-Motherboard-Tomahawk-B450TOMAMAX/dp/B07WF6ZQST/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=MSI+Tomahawk+Max+B450&qid=1605225707&sr=8-1

STORAGE: WD Black SN 750
https://www.amazon.com/BLACK-SN750-...ern+digital+black+sn750&qid=1605226415&sr=8-2

VIDEO CARD: AS Rock Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Challenger D (not so sure about this one)
https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-5700-...700+xt+8gb+challenger+d&qid=1605231773&sr=8-2

MEMORY: G Skill Aegis 32 GB (2 -16 gb) DDR-4 3200https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-288-Pin-PC4-25600-CL16-18-18-38-F4-3200C16D-32GIS/dp/B08175L812/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=gskill+aegis+32gb+%282+-16+gb%29+ddr-4+3200&qid=1605232535&sr=8-2

Still need following:
  1. Liquid cooling system to help with heat problem.
  2. Case. I like the Fractal Meshify units because of heat problem and need for room liquid cooling, but haven't a clue which one. This one says it has "water cooling ready", but don't see the mesh sides and its expensive. https://www.amazon.com/Fractal-Desi...Fractal+design+meshify&qid=1605233351&sr=8-13
  3. Reliable power supply
  4. Wifi
  5. Do I need a separate sound card?
  6. Monitor. This would put me over budget, but I would like to get a new 27" monitor for him.
Being as he loves those flight simulator games, I thought the curved screen would add a new dimension to
his games. But then I also want an IPS screen, and I have not found one that has both these features
that doesn't exceed $350. Right now he has a 10 year old 1080 Hd one.

I really hope I get some responses from this. It took a lot of time to try and put something together, and I am not a tech savvy mom, but wanted to be able to get the best rig I could afford for him. Any suggestions for alternatives, please add. Thank you.

Putting a relatively large cooler like that Shadow Rock 3 on the CPU is probably a good idea.

Still need following:
  1. Liquid cooling system to help with heat problem.
Typically a liquid cooler would be used as the CPU cooler, but something like that Shadow Rock 3 tower cooler would likely work just as well as a reasonably-priced all-in-one liquid cooler. Once the liquid in the cooler has warmed up, it relies on fans to exhaust that heat into the air anyway, so there might not be much to gain. Some people install a liquid cooler on their graphics card, but that tends to be fairly uncommon, and not many models of graphics cards have compatible liquid coolers made for them. And again, that heat is eventually making its...

As for how the cooler on that ASRock 5700XT Challenger compares, that model has a somewhat smaller, lower-end cooler as far as 5700 XTs are concerned, and generally operates at higher temperatures as a result. So it might be worth looking at a different model. From what I've heard in reviews, the Gigabyte Gaming OC tends to have one of the better coolers among cards in this price range, running cooler and quieter than most other models, likely due to its triple-fan design...

Some other models, like the XFX THICC II, Sapphire Pulse, and Powercolor Red Dragon apparently also fare reasonably well, though I don't think their coolers perform quite as well as Gigabyte's Gaming OC.

Thats a big gap and difference from one to the other.
Personally Tomahwak is a not a option these days when you have good B550's like the Pro4 costing less, the B550 not only is more future proof, now we know it has the advantage of supporting SAM, which increase GPU performance if you get a 6000 series GPU.

cryoburner: Thank you so much for input. It was very helpful. I did change the video card to the one your recommended, but it is now out of stock everywhere. I will keep trying. Thank you so much.
