Hi, I've looked up many threads here about this topic and still can't figure this issue.

Windows cannot output anything higher than 60hz to newly purchased monitor (Samsung 27 CGJ5 Curved - 2K 144hz). I'm using the HDMI that came with the monitor and it says high speed HDMI, I guess this is a 2.0 HDMI. My Laptop's HDMI port is sadly a 1.4, However, I found people on other threads saying 1.4 Can output 1080p at 144hz. I downgraded my resolution to 10920x1080 but still the maximum hz showing is 60.

The monitor is connected to my i7-10510U, I've tried to make it connect to my GeForce MX130 but no luck at all. Adjusted 3D and physs settings to MX130 and tried to choose preferred graphics card in BIOS but I didn't find such an option in my BIOS, no luck at all. But I still think my CPU can output 1080p@144hz which I'm not getting at all.

Can you please help? At this point I'm not sure if the problem with the CPU, HDMI, BIOS or the Monitor itself.

I think this is the right model. Looking at the manual only HDMI port # 2 supports 1440p 144Hz while # 1 is limited to 60Hz.

Yes I'm connecting at the 1440p 144Hz port and installed the driver. It is locked to 60hz max

From a bit of searching I think it’s a problem with using the integrated graphics but didn’t find a definitive answer, I couldn’t find the spec for 1440p.
Thank You, The limits of 1.4b is theoretically 1080p@120hz. It has to be the CPU causing this. From intel's documentation, this CPU is up to 4096 x 2304@24Hz via HDMI. Going to the lowest possible resolution (800x600) gave me 75Hz option, but (1280x720) was locked to 60. Doing some math I'm sure 1280x720@120hz is less than 4096 x 2304@24Hz. Not quiet sure why I'm not getting it still.
I'm easily getting 1440p@60Hz now. But no matter how I downgrade the resolution I'm not getting 120 or 144hz.
