(1) 480GB SSD + (2) 1TB RE4 HDD

Hello,
I have
(1) Hyper X 480GB SSD
And
(2) Western Digital RE4 1TB HDD

I am looking for both SPEED and BACKUP

What would be the best setting for these drives
as to where i can utilize all 3.

I would like to run the OS and my Huge selection of game to the SSD

And have the 2 HDDs for further storage and backup
as to where i can backup both SSD and (1)HDD with the Other HDD

um best settings will be to put the 2 1TB HDD in RAID 1 and use the 480GB SSD out of any RAID config still putting the OS and the highly played games onto it but games which you do not play alot put onto the HDD RAID that is what i think will be the best

Can i just store the OS and all my games to the SSD
and everything else onto (1) of my HDDs

then use the remaining HDD for backing up bothe SSD
and HDD?

Connect your SSD to one of the Intel 6Gb/s ports (SATA3_0 or SATA3_1), not to one of the Marvell 6Gb/s ports.

Connect your HDDs to one of the Intel 3Gb/s ports (SATA2_2 thru SATA2_4).

Make sure all of the Intel SATA ports are set to AHCI mode.

When you install Windows on your SSD make sure it is the only drive connected.
After installation is done you can then connect your HDDs.

How do i go about doing that?

Would the two HDDs be in a Raid 0?

or would it be the SSD in AHCI and one HDD RAID 1
and the other HDD RAID 0

SSD= AHCI

First HDD= RAID 1

Second HDD= RAID 0

Would i be able to back up both the SSD AHCI AND RAID 1
with the RAID 0 HDD?

Just use backup software (Windows, Acronis, etc.) and create backup plans that will backup your data on your C drive and D drive to your backup (E) drive.

One more question i dereck

Where would you recommend i store
all my games to?

My Hyper X 3K 480GB SSD Or My Western Digital 1TB

As you already know my OS will be on the SSD

And everything on that SSD will be backup to the
2nd WD 1TB HDD

SDD=OS + GAMES

1st HDD= Storage for everything else

2nd HDD= Backup

Do you have any further suggestions on what else would
be more convenient to store in the SSD over the HDD?

Store your most frequently used games to your SSD. Keep the rest on your 1st HDD.

When you complete a game or get tired of it you can then copy it to your 1st HDD and then uninstall it from your SSD.
