Hi
Upgraded from 2 x twin fozer 6950's to 1 x strix rx 480

1 longish beep then 3 beeps which i guess signals graphic card problem

wont give signal to tv (used as monitor hdmi)

motherboard is rampage 2 extreme with bios 2101 which is years old but latest i think

psu is hiper -hpu-4m880-pe (880w)

when i put old card in works fine but rx 480 just does the beep thing

Im thinking could be the fact i cant update bios to recognise graphics or the hiper psu which is not popular brand which means i cant check compatability (rampage 2 extreme shows as compatable but maybe it aint)

anyway considering buying psu to eliminate it from problem as in my experience they can be hit and miss with new cards

thanks for any help

Step to correct : http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000996.htm]

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steps so far
1. tried memory swapping and followed directions

2. bought new corsair psu and same thing again so its not psu (not total waste of money as old one was 5 years old at least and much easier cable management freeing up loads space)

so it looks obviously that my mobo is not compatable with card which it is suggested on some part comparison sites

Looking like a rebuild as i want updated graphics ........took a chance and the hardware is good enough just no update support on old mobo which is a shame.

so beware if your gona try a new card in old mobo folks an rx480 could be risky

p.s im double checking card in brothers computer sometime soon
