1 fan on the radiatior for h80i ?

Hi, i recently installed a h80i, but it covers up my VRM on my motherboard and there isnt much air space for cooling there, which makes it throttle and get huge fps drops, so if i move the h80i radiator to the top of my case with only 1 fan would it still work? and which fan, top or bottom of the radiator? and i was gonna keep the other fan on the back side where it already is, here's a picture

and yea my case is a small mid atx, CM Elite 430

What are the motherboard/cpu/gpu temps at idle and under load? Unless your VRM temps are off the charts it shouldn't be affecting your FPS in-game.
I believe the issue is something else entirely, I doubt it is your h80i causing the problems.

But to answer your question, the h80i will indeed work with only one fan. It will lose some performance, but it will still work with one fan.

cpu temps and gpu are normal, 40 during games with cpu and under 80 for gpu
trust me its the vrm, check my previous thread, a lot of people have problems with VRM temps on these asrock mobo's when using fx 8 cores

edit: heres my idle temps

I did read through the thread you linked.
Have you tried opening the side panels and directing in a box fan or other form of in-home cooling?
I would try the above before you try any component switching and or blaming components/inefficient case cooling

As long as the h80i is installed properly it should be fine. Many h80i and h100i installations go poorly on ASUS and ASRock motherboards because the backplate doesn't quite provide enough pressure. If you push on the cooler from the front and you can see the backplate move, you need to add some non-conductive washers between the backplate and motherboard. (Images below)

I ran a single fan on my i7-4770k for over a year, no issues. Push config with the radiator mounted in the top of the case.

A single fan pulling out the rear should work fine as well.

yes right now i have this fan on top the pc, blowing air into it and it seems to help

What is your definition of "helps"?
If the problem does not completely disappear with that fan on top of your case, moving the h80i will not solve anything.

i think it fixed it , ill play more games to see if it comes back, and the reason i want to move the h80i is so i can fit a small fan near the vrm

Well find a way to remove the "almost" from your statement.
Run a program like prime95 and the valley benchmark (not at the same time).

If your computer passes a valley benchmark test, and at least 10 minutes of prime95 with that fan there... I would suggest upgrading your VRM cooling (Mounting a fan like others suggested in your past thread), and removing a fan from your 80i so that it only has one push as exhaust.

ive never understood how to run prime95? do i need to install it on something? or just click the program
and im sure the fan fixed it, i played a full match of dota 2 without any drops, before it would always drop

Prime95 and the valley benchmark are both programs you install on your computer.
They will stress your hardware and record the stats. Valley stresses your GPU most
and Prime95 will stress your CPU/RAM

Both offer a guided installation software, you download the software and click through the "next" options while selecting what settings you want.

Here is the download page for;
Valley : https://unigine.com/products/valley/download/
Prime95 : http://www.mersenne.org/download/

ok how many torture test threads should i run on p95 ?
and should i do the blend setting?

8, as you have 8 cores.
Blend test will be fine for this testing purpose
Be sure to monitor temps during the test! Coretemp is another great program... it is used to monitor core speed/temp

yea i have coretemp, and how long will the test take? and should i keep all programes closed or something

all programs but coretemp and prime 95.
10 Minutes should suffice, but 30 minutes or even an hour would be best.

Check coretemp periodically during the test for any cpu throttling (drop is core speed/voltage)

the cpu seems to drop to 1400mhz sometimes but the temps are below 40
and voltage does 0.8875
and all cores are staying at 100%

Your CPU is throttling itself. When I experienced FPS drops, this was my problem.
But as you just played your games earlier, I doubt that's the problem for you.

If none of the cores failed, your next step is to run the valley benchmark. If you past the test with a decent score (depends on your GPU and other hardware) and everything works fine... then I would suggest proceeding with moving the h80i and adding VRM cooling.

so its ok? and ok ill go download that now
and it said 2 tests complete in 30 minutes with 0 errors and 0 warnings

If it's not causing problems for you specifically then it's fine, yes.
You would get more performance from turning that feature off, but it's not necessary.

okay i did the valley and it stayed above 60fps with ultra and fxaa x4

and how should i add vrm coooling? i have the fan from my stock cooler that came with the 8350, but i have no screws right now or copper wire or wahtever i need

The member who helped you in your other thread posted some pics of what he did. I would suggest something along the same lines.
You need to find a way to mount a fan in way that it provides directly airflow over your VRM area. There are many different ways you can go about this, it's entirely up to you.
You can buy a fan mount attached to a bendable arm, that will screw into your case... or you could rig it up with some zip ties... or try and "hang it" with wires/zipties as posted in the other thread.

ok so about using 1 fan on the radiator for the h80i, should the fan be on top or bottom? and air going which direction,
im gonna try to keep it on the top part of my pc
