Question 1 firefox tab, 13 firefox processes shows in task manager

It's mainly due to the security sandboxing of various elements. Each tab gets it's own process, session cookies can get their own, loading a video isolates it into its own and so on and so on. Keeping each element separate decreases the chance one thing can infect and take over other things.

When I have firefox open lets say just 1 tab, task manager will show 13 processes. If I have 5 firefox tabs open, task manager will show 22. Or am I not reading task manager correctly?
You can see your 5 tabs, as the ones using the most ram (100mb+) and the rest are essential components for the browser to run smoothly.
there are other processes which contain extensions, browser assets, etc.
