1 HDD vs. 2 HDD RAID-0

Alright guys...

I bought a HDD WD Black 1TB and I was thinking in use it in RAID-0 and I was wondering ..Will RAID better performance and faster in reading and writing data to be single?
Knowing that both HDD capacity is 1 terabyte

My questions:
# Which is better performance and speed ... single HDD, or 2x 7200rpm WD Black HDDs RAID 0?

Here are my currently system specs:
* MOBO: Intel DX58SO2 Intel(R) ICH10R LPC Interface Controller - 3A16
* RAM: 3x8GB DDR3-1600 RAM PC3 240pin DIMM Kingston KHX1600C9D3/8G
* CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-960 Processor (8M Cache, 3.20 GHz, 4.80 GT/s Intel® QPI)
* HDD: 1- WD Black 1 TB SATA Hard Drives ( WD1002FAEX), 2- WD Black 1 TB SATA Hard Drives ( WD1002FAEX)
* OS (current): Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (Based) / Windows 8 Professional x64

Could you guys please weight in on your opinions?

I don't like RAID 0. If a single drive dies or has problems, the whole array is useless. You would probably be better off with a 10K rpm drive.

He'd be better off with an SSD. No one really uses AID0 anymore. Use an SSD for speed and a normal drive for storage.

Thanks guys for your replay, And what I planned is to use 80GB SSD for the system, system software and WoW, but I want to take advantage of two HDDs for the best possible way, but I have no idea, do I use them solo or RAID to get the best performance of them and that is my question

Separate drives. It sounds like you have speed for OS and games, everything else is just storage. 5400RPM drives are fine for that. WD blacks are overkill.

RAID 0 may give slightly better performance, but you won't necessarily realize it in real world applications. If you do a lot of video editing, I'd say go raid, otherwise leave them as single storage drives.
