Hi, I'm not that great with computers so bare with me.

I have a problem with my PC that I built and recently put in a 7950 GPU. I was getting no display at first so I tried messing around with my BIOS and changed the setting Initial Display to PCI. My computer then worked perfectly until I shut it down. When I turn it on I get 1 long beep and 2 short beeps, so I tried resetting the BIOS and it fixed the numerous beeps, but now I'm back to where I started with having no display on my monitor.

I've tried 2 different 7950, different ram, and different monitors. I'm stumped on how to fix this. It could be 1 long beep and 3 short beeps if I'm just not hearing it right.

I have a z77m-d3h Gigabyte Motherboard
Intel i3 2100 CPU
Radeon 7850 GPU
650W PSU

If there is anything else I need to add please let me know. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Solution
I would try removing the GPU, connect the display to the integrated port. Clear/reset the cmos. Power on and enter the bios, set the which GPU to intialize first toe PEG (Pci Express Graphics). power down. Install the GPU in the top x16 slot, connect the PSU power cables to it, connect the display to it, and finally power back on. Also make sure you are using the correct ports on your PSU if its a modular one. If it still fails I would be looking at the motherbd.
Please verify which beep code you are getting, we cant here it from here. <grin>
The following Award BIOS beep code descriptions may help you identify possible computer problems.
(For reference only.)
1 short: System boots successfully
2 short: CMOS setting error
1 long, 1 short: Memory or motherboard error
1 long, 2 short: Monitor or graphics card error
1 long, 3 short: Keyboard error
1 long, 9 short: BIOS ROM error
Continuous long beeps: Graphics card not inserted properly
Continuous short beeps: Power error

1 Long and 2 Short beeps. I don't think it's the GPU or monitor because I've tried 2 different ones for both of them.
