1 of 2 Gpu Fan's does not spin (XFX r9 380)

Hello community,

1 fan of my XFX r9 380 GPU card does not spin. When i power on my pc both fans spin for 1 sec, then the left one stops. Ocassionally after restarting the pc, some times it works, but most of the times it doesn't. I ve noticed this problem months ago but it became worse gradually.

I am testing with furmark and GPU temps rises to 80 deegrees and the left fan still refuses to spinn. I haven't messed up with fan speed profiles and such. I've also replace my old PSU to a new one. Lastly, the GPU has always been kept clear so no dust build up and as i spin the fan with my hand i dont feel resistance in spinning.

Do you think this fan is failing due to mechanicall reasons? , or there is a problem with the whole GPU insted?
I am asking this because i have found replacment fan on ebay (waranty is over, no chance for RMA), so should i give it a try or its pointless and my GPU is dying anyways? Has anyone ever encounter this problem?

GPUs can last for many years (My 7950 is still running my media server), or die within months. I'd try to fix the fan, than either sell it to buy an upgrade or keep it.

Yeah sounds like the fan is dieing, you can usually get replacement fans quite cheap on amazon if you get the right size.

Yeah i swaped the fans to make sure that is the fan and not the gpu that is dying, and yes the bad one doesn't spin in the other position too.
I removed it and tried to oil it up, but i cannot open it without breaking it. I think it is fixed on the rotor...
