So I went to boot my PC up today and I noticed it was boot cycling, eventually I got it to boot and I noticed that my PC is detecting both sticks, but Windows can only access 1 stick or something? Basically it says 16.0GB(7.95GB usable). Eventually I was able to narrow it down to one of my ram sticks not working properly. if I try to boot with just this one stick my PC doesn't boot, or if it does, it blue screens pretty quickly. Anyway is it normal for RAM to just die like this? My PC was working perfectly fine just a few hours ago. Also I've just been having terrible luck with my PC lately, just a while ago my onboard audio suddenly stopped working completely.

Solution
Anything can fail at any time.
That is not usual for ram.
Is there a motherboard bios update available ?
Such updates often address ram issues.

Your motherboard manual will direct you to install a single ram stick in one preferred slot.
(And which slots to use for two)
Do that with each stick individually and
Run memtest86 or memtest86+
They boot from a usb stick and do not use windows.
You can download them here:
If you can run a full pass with NO errors, your individual ram sticks should be ok.
Then test with both sticks.

Ram usually has a lifetime warranty so if memtest shows a defective stick, contact the vendor for a rma.
Ram must be matched, so expect to...

Thanks for the info, I don't think a BIOS update will be helpful in this situation, as for memtest86, it crashes before the test can even finish, if I can boot in the first place, although I've done it with both ram sticks installed. I might try to run it with just the working stick, to check if that might also have a defect.
