[SOLVED] 1 or 8 cores?

i have a I7-9700k processer Nivida RTX 2070 2x16gbram TUF gaming Z390-PLUS gaming
and i don't know alot about pc's and stuff
but the question is should i have 1 or 8 cores activated?
(bonus question) i all in all fell that my pc ""sucks"" at gaming it had performace issues in Btatelfeild 5 i run ca 60-80 fps on ALL low settings and nothing else going on in the background anyting like that

You absolutely leave it at the default.
There is ZERO reason to disable cores.
