Question 1 question (maybe 3) about my heatsink

I'm looking at the Noctua - NH-D15S Chromax Black for an i7-14700K in a Lian Li - Lancool 216 case.

Question 1: Is it compatible? The specs on the heatsink list "Compatible Intel Socket/Slot: LGA 1150, 1151, 1155, 1156, 1200, 2011, 2011-v3, 2066."

No 1700?

I guess the next two questions are irrelevant if the answer to question 1 is "no"...

Question 2: Will it fit? The only heatsink related spec on the case is, "Max CPU heatsink height 180.50 mm." It doesn't mention W or D. For the heatsink, the specs are listed as Width - 150 mm, Depth - 135 mm, Height 160 mm. Are there other factors I need to consider, or do the numbers tell the full story? Are these numbers taking into account other components, or is this for a case that literally has nothing but the heatsink in it? I'm looking at cramming an RTX 4080Super in there as well.

Question 3: Do I need to buy thermal compound? The description on the heatsink states, "...multi-socket mounting system, Noctuas enthusiast-grade NT-H1 thermal compound and a full 6-year manufacturers warranty..." Just confirming this means it's included and/or pre-applied?

Thank you!

Your best best is to contact Noctua about these concerns.

I have used quite a few of their coolers and fans. They do include a tube of paste. On the website there is a pretty comprehensive fitment guide for RAM heigh and so on. As to the proper mounting hardware, if it isn't listed it would be worth asking the source.

from noctuas website:

"Noctua's SecuFirm2™ mounting systems have become synonymous with quality, safety and easy installation. Supporting Intel LGA1851, LGA1700 (since 2021), LGA1200, LGA115x (LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156) as well as AMD AM4 and AM5 (since 2019), the SecuFirm2™ mounting included with the NH-D15S is straightforward to install, provides perfect contact pressure and will stand the test of time even under heavy use."

also you can go on noctuas CPU and motherboard comparability checker (on the service tab from the cooler page), here's the data for your CPU:
https://ncc.noctua.at/coolers/NH-D15S-chromax.black-67/cpu/INTEL/LGA1700?q=14700k

looks like it's compatible, but be careful in case there are past revisions of the cooler on the market that aren't, and probably also worth checking your motherboard just in case it doesn't fit past the chipset heatsink or something:

the best way to know is to buy/go to a shop and view the case, look at the technical drawing of the cooler website:
tech_nh_d15s_xl_v2_4.jpg

then measure the space inside the case, however normally 'max heatsink height' refers to the height the cooler stands above the motherboard on a bench test, you have 160mm of 'heatsink height' on this cooler, so your case allows 180mm and it should fit. Not guaranteed tho, without measuring the case

not sure if it's pre applied or not? watch youtube reviews to find out, but it is provided and the noctua compound is quite a good one so I wouldn't worry about using it
