i have only 1 USB 3.0 port on the motherboard but i have 2 USB 3.0 port on my case so what should i do?

i would like to be able to have 2 available at any given time. I'm thinking maybe get a y splitter, but i heard that by doing so the computer will have trouble detecting 2 different devices. is that true?

motherboard: msi h97 pc mate
case: corsair 230T

Solution
Yes, both usb 3.0 headers uses only one connector. Both wires coming from both slots get cloned in one connector and they both uses only one 20 pin USB 3.0 header connector on the motherboard. ..... :)
Usually the case will have a cable that goes into the USB3 header on the motherboard (the blue connector next to the power connector). If not you can get a header cable, search google for usb3 header.

no no no, i wan to utilize both the case front USB 3.0 port, but my mobo only has 1 USB 3.0 port, so im wondering what to do.
