Have you considered building two $5,000 PCs, one now and one four years from now?

You chose an extended atx motherboard BUT the case you chose doesn't support e-atx. Go with a lian li or HAF

What's this? A rich Aussie?
:)

Your power supply won't handle all three of those cards, but no problem. You don't need 3 anyway.

A couple of these:

And a couple of these:

Along with the rest of a water cooling system will get you far better bang for the buck than throwing all that cash around for a few frames per second.

The same goes for the CPU. Downgrade and use the water system to get your performance.

Dude, just spend $5,000 on a kick ass system and tell your folks "Thanks, but for an overindulgence in a freaking useless hobby you shouldn't have to help me pay for it" Just because you can take advantage of your parents doesn't mean you should.

Another +1 for spending some of that now, and saving more for future systems.

If you save/invest right, you could keep rolling that forward to get a sweet system every few years.

Don't wast the cash on the top end CPU - get the i7 920 and OC. The GPU suggestions are right on as well.

H U G E . W A S T E . O F . M O N E Y :D :pt1cable: :D :pt1cable: :D

It will be outdated in 6 months... And you have no RAID card - have fun maxing out the onboard crap controllers on your motherboard with the SSDs - it's like driving an indy car through NYC during rush hour. Let me guess, you "Sorted by Price" and picked the most rediculous crap you could find.

Lame.

Get a life.

I think you could probably get 95% of the performance for about 30% of the money; some of the comments thus far have been good ones. For example, something like this:

Intel i7 920 D0; OC to 3.4-3.8 GHz
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2
2 x Radeon HD 4890
6GB OCZ Platinum 1600's
Antec 900 case
Western Digital Caviar Black 640 GB HDD
Corsair 850W PSU
Xigmatech Dark Knight CPU Cooler
(Optical Drive of your choice)

Would probably cost you ~$1500-2000 AUD without a monitor if I had to guess, and should max out basically any game you can throw at it. (Of course, other people will have different parts preferences, this is just an example). It would also leave you $3000 to spend on other stuff. Think of how many pizzas you could order with $3000... powerful stuff.

What these ppl are saying in questionable terms is basically this: You buy a crazy out-specced PC now and u'll find that it will be outdated in a year or two. (or next yr when DX11, windows 7 and a new generation of processors are out). technology changes quite rapidly, and ur PC for $10,000 wont be able to run games 2 years from now on max settings while using the newest technologies. On the other hand if u were to spend AUD 5000 on a good PC now u will be able to run pretty much any program/game at awesome resolutions. then in 2 years get another comp for around teh same price (minus the monitor, if u make sure u get a realy good monitor now. or go for the Samsun + NVidia 3D Vision bundle and hold on to it). This way u'd not only have two computers (one very good one, and one that is cutting edge, but u'd actually be better off.

i.e. in 2 yrs u'd still have a cutting edge computer. but if u shell out 10k on a PC now, in 2 years ur comp will be great, but it won't be cutting edge.

If you notice, some of the stuff he's spending money on won't be outdated so quickly, such as the monitors. Some people are willing to spend quite a bit of money, I find it frustrating for him that so many people are offering financial advice, which he didn't ask for, instead of hardware advice, which he did.

I'd get a RAID controller for the drives, the graphics set is quite nice, you might even consider a dual CPU board with one or two GTX295s, but if it's mainly for gaming you're right on track.

Sure it will... easily. No system uses up all the Amps and Watts available to that unit.

EDIT: Regardless, don't spend this money. There are so many better things that you could spend it on that are infinitely more worthwhile. Get a $2500 system if you feel you need to waste money, or even a $1500 one, which will still max out games like no other.

Honestly, put it in the bank or a mutual fund and get some interest on that cash. Send your kids through college... although it doesn't really look like you'll be having any kids, does it? (couldn't resist the roll :D)
