[SOLVED] 10 GBE – Network – Slow Speeds Issue

I have the following network components:
Qnap TS653b fitted with 4 x WD 6TB Red Nas Drives in raid 6 array. The nas has a 10GBE Qnap QX10GIT Ethernet expansion card.

NetgearXS708Ev2 10 Gigabit Ethernet Smart Managed Switch

My Workstation is a quad core I7 with 16GB ram and 1 SSD drive for main os and a second a Seagate raptor 1tb 7200RPM hard drive. This has a buffalo LGY-PCIE-MG 10GBE ethernet adapter installed.

All components are connected via Cat 7 cable.

The network is configured as follows:
  • Internet from router to port 3 on switch.
  • PC Workstation to port 2 on switch.
  • Nas to port 5 on switch.
  • Akitio thunderport 3 10 GBE adaptor (connected from a dell laptop) to port 1.
Testing
For a 5.02GB film
From PC Workstation To Nas: 110 - 130MB/s (Max Speeds) ETA:45s (Seagate)
From PC Workstation To Nas: 95 - 110MB/s (Max Speeds) ETA:30seconds (SSD Drive)
PC to Nas (Direct Connection) 76-84MB/s (Max Speeds) ETA:30 Secomds (Seagate)

QFILE transfers within filestation were actually slower.

As you can see I am getting no more than 200MB per second which seems to slow to me. I only seem to get a maximum of 180MB/s. I have updated all of my drivers and the firmware of the switch. I am also getting the green lights confirming I have a 10GBE connection.

When I am doing a transfer with the Akitio thunderbolt 3 10GBE adaptor it states I am getting an 80MB/s transfer speed for the same file connecting from the thunderbolt 3 port on my laptop to the ethernet socket on the adapter then straight into my 10 GBE switch (again I have the green light suggesting I have 10GBE connection).

Does anyone have any suggestions regarding the speed as I think I should be achieving at least 250MB/s – 300MB/s?
