10 ghz processor

Probably on some spy satellites in orbit, no need for coolers there, just open a small window and you have instant cooling.

As a down to earth comment, the current overclocking record is around that speed. Most CPU's die long before reaching that speed. So there are no 10Ghz CPU's on the market.

No No, You forgot the other thing, I know you just overlooked it. You left out the one thing.

If you have a duel core proc you add the two together then multiply by each cores speed...

Example X Ghz Duel Core = X + X = Y

Then Y * Y = Final Speed

With Tripple cores you have to do that odd 0.75 thingy Hence this next example

X Ghz Tripple Core = X + X + X / 0.75 = Y

Then Y * Y = Final Speed

Quad cores are a whole new ball game, this is how you work out the actual speed if a quad core

X Ghz Quad Core = X + X + X + X / 0.5 * 2 = Y

Then Y * Y = Final Speed.

Can't believe you missed that. I know, everyone makes mistakes.

Oh, i have lost hope in the world...you guys if u have 4x2.5 ghz its 2.5 ghz. having more cores is for multitasking and having many different programs open or running high demand applications on several cores. Look at it this way, 4 runners can all run 5:30 min miles, just because there is more runners does not make them all faster, however if you devote all of the cores to one application, lets say a high demand game, it will run smoother than on just one core. You could also look at it like hauling goods in a pickup truck vs. a semi both going at 70 mph same speed, more payload.
