I have finished a fresh install of windows 7 professional 64 bit with service pack 1 on a desktop PC running an ASUS M2N-E, AMD dual core processor and 4 GB ram, the OS is an upgrade from Windows 7 home premium. It is not a burnt disc and the OEM Product key is the one that come with the original software, I have done nothing wince the install other then download chrome and now it is so slow I cannot use the computer, let alone install MSE, the CPU is running at 100% in the task manager with consumption attributed to a process tree of about 6 different services one of which has to do with windows update. The computer has ran multiple updates allready at this point and is now to bogged down to further any installations. My statement holds multiple questions and the first of which is, did I do something wrong during the install process, second was it a bad move to upgrade to windows professional, third, is there an issue with the product key, fourth is there a remedy that will not leave a scared, sometimes faulty system and is said remedy a better option then wiping the harddrive and starting the install process over again
