So, before I got an update, my laptop was running perfectly. After the update, it started having 100% disk usage. Tried disabling superfetch, win search, notifications, scanned for malware and still nothing. Then I made a fresh instal of Windows10 and the problem still exists! Anyone have any idea on what could solve this? The update is KB3176934

I found this from microsoft and it solved my issue (https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/3083595) I'll summerize if you don't want to click the link. I did the superfetch, win search, disabled flash in chrome, there was a skype-chrome conflict i tried, windows notifications, pairing file size, and this did it for me

Asus K555L. I have tried uninstalling the update which does not help. A thing I have noticed is that my PC actually runs smoothly as before, but shows me the 100% disk usage. Even though it does not affect the speed, it affects a game (League of Legends to be precise). What happens is my FPS dropped from 180 to 60, it started being a bit laggy and the sound starts making some weird noises. After a random time (sometimes at the start of a game, sometimes in the middle of it), the laptop completely freezes and starts to make a sound like something got messed up.

Resolution
MSI mode can be disabled for specific devices via the registry:

Identify if you are running the inbox AHCI driver (StorAHCI.sys):

Open a command prompt with administrator privileges. Then type the following command in the command prompt window and hit Enter: devmgmt.msc
Under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers right-click on the AHCI controller node and select Properties. This node is usually called “Standard SATA AHCI Controller.”
Navigate to the driver tab and click Driver Details.
If you see “StorAHCI.sys” in the list, you are running the inbox driver.

Disable MSI for the controller in the registry:
In the same properties window opened in step 1.2, navigate to the Details tab and select Device instance path from the Property drop-down menu. Note this path.
Open the registry editor by typing regedit in the previously opened command prompt.
Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\ <AHCI Controller>\Device Parameters\Interrupt Management\MessageSignaledInterruptProperties, where <AHCI Controller> refers to the device instance path you noted in step 2.1.
Change the value of the MSISupported key from “1” to “0”.
If you don’t know which controller your boot device is attached to, repeat steps 2.1 through 2.4 for all AHCI controllers found under 1.2.

Reboot the machine."
